Free Fun at Yate's Beach
Yate Shopping Centre
Yate’s beach is now open until Saturday 31st August bringing a seaside holiday atmosphere to Yate.
It is the ideal opportunity for visitors to soak-up the summer feeling and relax in one of the beach deckchairs with a drink from one of the Centre’s many great cafes.

Summer Reading Challenge - Story Garden!
This year's Summer Reading Challenge starts on 5 July and ends on 13 September.
Open to all primary school aged children, it’s free and fun.
Read any books you like (yes we really mean any books) and collect stickers and rewards.
This year’s theme is Story Garden! The 2025 Summer Reading Challenge celebrates adventure, fantasy and storytelling through nature and the great outdoors. We’ll be inspiring children to tap into a world of imagination through reading.
Join at your local library during staffed hours and pick up your free activity bag.

Delivered by Bristol Flyers Community Coaches, our Basketball Holiday Camps help to develop your basketball skills in a safe and fun environment. Open to boys & girls in school Years 3 to 11.
We are delighted to be able to fully fund your child's place to enable them to attend these sessions! These sessions will be delivered by our team of level 2 qualified and experienced sports coaches who deliver our Bristol Flyers Holiday camps!!

Games week
Creative recycling
Each week there will be arts & crafts, games and sports based around these themes.
For example, in Celebration of Nations week the children will decorate pebbles with either the flag of their country or something that shows everyone is welcome. They will play sports that are played in different nations around the world.
In Crazy Creatures week the children will use their imaginations to create their own crazy creature - what it looks like, smells like, what it can and cant do.
In Games week, they will create and play their own games.
